Catching up

Hi!

This year is flying by!

Last Friday we went to Brighton for my birthday

It was forecast thunderstorms, so we were a bit worried

But the weather was gorgeous!

We lay on the beach for ages and it was total bliss!

Dozing in the sun and hearing the waves crash onto the beach

A perfect day!

Here are some photos from the last week

This is a toy I was working on, but I didn't like how it turned out

So Sisco claimed it

I didn't take a pic, but my mum wrapped my pressies in Hello Kitty paper!

In Brighton we went for lunch at Wai Kika Moo Kau

I spotted jojo's cakes 

They had so many vegan cakes that looked so good!

But we were too full

We shared a peanut tofu wrap and a breakfast

Yum!

The wrap was so fresh and perfect for a hot day

I'd definitely get it again

And you can't go wrong with a breakfast!

I just wish they did scrambled tofu

Heaven!

The next day I got a surprise from my mum

She told me before as she was excited about it!

haha

Now this was a surprise!

I've been online buds with Becky for ages

I actually did my first craft swap with her

I call her the 'party planner queen' as she plans the most amazing themed parties!

I love the fact she goes all out

I saw her amazing bead creations and commented on her pic and she said she'd make me one

I decided to send her something in return

So I sent her one of my plush foxes 

A few days before my birthday a huge cardboard envelope arrived

I didn't have a clue what it was

This is what was in it!

The hearts and dollars are ice cube trays

Seriously!

Isn't this amazing??

I'm going to hang it above my desk

I'd had my eye on this ring for a long time and it didn't disappoint!

It's so pretty and dainty

The seller was really lovely and got my ring out fast as I wanted it for my birthday

This next one is from Paul's parents

It's been in my Etsy favourites for ages

I need to take a pic of mine as it's slightly different

But this is the one from the shop

I'm going to sound like a cheese ball, but it's totally magical!

Mine has a little bit more purple in it and it's so unique!

The rest of the weekend was just spent relaxing
It was a really lovely birthday and I'm already planning my next trip to Brighton

Sorry, I can never resist dropping in a bit of Lionel!

I haven't blogged in ages

All this eye trouble has left me feeling less than chipper 

So I left blogging for a while

I'm off to the opticians next week for a check up and then if I'm not better it's back to the eye hospital

Arghhh!

I'm trying to stay positive, but it's been bloody hard!

Fingers crossed I'll be back to my chirpy self soon

Here are some pics from the last few weeks

As it's been boiling I've been having lots of smoothies, fresh fruit and juices

I'm not too into sweet juices, but this one was lovely and refreshing!

The shop near us sells huge watermelons so much cheaper than supermarkets so I've been having lots

 I love the smell of fresh strawberries

 At the beginning of July we went to Brighton for a day trip

I LOVE the sea air!

So lovely compared to humid London

 We just wandered, sat on the beach and played games on the pier

I beat Paul on the basketball machine!

I never do that, maybe my eye is turning super-human?

 Oh Brighton, I love you

 The lovely Jojo always posts about Boho Gelato so we went to check it out

I love anything grape flavoured, so we got grape

Paul said before we got there "oh, I don't like gelato"

Half way up the road and 2/3rds was gone!

Little liar!

They had 4 vegan options on the day we went

I'm definitely going back

 I love these retro tins

 And this is our haul from Infinity foods

I hadn't tried Vegusto before but heard so much good about the brand

But I have to say, I wasn't that impressed

I'll get the cheese next time

 This is gorgeous Paulo from down the road

He is so affectionate and has the loudest purr I've ever heard

Meow!

 NEW CAT ALERT!!

Paul had walked home at this point

Apparently, 10 minutes is too long to be stroking cats on the street!

I'll have to disagree!

 He's such an attention seeker

Cat Crazy Saturday

Back in London

Firstly, here is a video of Sisco

She likes to cry to go outside

Then when you let her out she wants to come back in

She does this around 4 times an hour

Silly girl

In my last post  I mentioned I was off to Wales to help my mum as she was going to hospital for a procedure on her heart

She has a tired heart and it beats very erratically and fast

She's been on a lot of medication to slow it down, which has left her feeling awful

Recently she had a new doctor, who is amazing and changed her tablets around

The last few weeks she's been feeling really good

On Tuesday we went to the hospital to get the treatment

They sedate her and shock the heart to try and restore the normal rhythm

She couldn't drink or eat before the treatment and was dying for a cup of tea

The nurse did an E.C.G and asked mum if we should celebrate with a cup if tea?

We were both a bit confused

Then she told us mum's heart had gone back to normal

WHAT?!!

She didn't need the treatment, the new medication had done it's job

We were both speechless!

There are further treatments she has to have in 12 months as she can't stay on the medication for any longer than that

But right now, she's good!

What a unexpected surprise!

I think we were both in shock the rest of the day

It was lovely being in Wales

It was hot, but we had the lovely sea breeze

Bliss

I'd never move back to Wales

But I really miss the sea

She is a very special girl and is deaf

She has absolutely no sense of danger, so has to be watched at all times when she is allowed out

She loves to sit here are watch the birds

It was lovely to just sit and watch the cows and sheep

 She's gone slightly grey over the last few years

 We went for a day out to Conwy
